Q: My camera reached 9999 photos and has started renumbering from 0001 but in a different folder. If I import the newer photos to iPhoto, will older photos with the same numbers be overridden?

My camera is renumbering photos from 0001, but in a new camera folder. If I import the new photos to iPhoto, will they override the older photos with the same numbers? The camera knows they are in a different folder, but what happens when I import to iPhoto?

MacBook, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

iPHoto handles duplicate file names just fine - each import is in a different folder within the database - no problem

iPhoto and Photos store the images in subfolders of the photo library organized by the date of the import. So there will be no conflict with the duplicate filenames.
