A Mac Mini Laptop - Would the Keyboard and Trackpad Connect?

I am getting a laptop, but want to also have the option of using a Mac Mini with it. It has an HDMI port, so I think I could plug in the Mac Mini, but would the Keyboard and Trackpad also connect?

What do yo mean by "I am getting a laptop, but want to also have the option of using a Mac Mini with it. It has an HDMI port, so I think I could plug in the Mac Mini".

You can't connect two computer via their HDMI output ports.

A Mac laptop does not support Target Display mode

Use your iMac as a display with Target Display Mode - Apple Support

You can use Screen Sharing over a network to control/use one Mac by another Mac.

Just what would you like to accomplish?

How does it have a "HDMI Cord"? Does this laptop come with just a small monitor that the Pi laptop plugs into? If so, HDMI "should" be HDMI.

If the keyboard and mouse are USB or standard Bluetooth, then yes, they should work with the Mini.

Do you have specs for these accessories somewhere?

ETA... just looked at the Indiegogo site for PiTop. Looks pretty proprietary. I would suggest it's false economy to use the items. I doubt the monitor, keyboard and touchpad will have external connectors for you to use.

The Raspberry Pi is connected to the hub, and that is connected to the screen w/ HDMI. The keyboard and mouse are connected to the Pi via USB, so that would work, so I'm thinking that I would unplug everything connected to the Pi (HDMI cord and Power Supply) and reconnect them with the Mac Mini, sharing the keyboard, mouse, and screen. Do you think that that would work? Thanks so much!

What do you mean by "charge"?

Actually, sorry from the other response - I would need to charge the Mac Mini separately, and now I'm wondering if that's actually possible.

You previous post included "Mac Mini, sharing the keyboard, mouse, and screen."

Just what do you mean by share?

You can disconnect the USB mouse and KB, and the monitor from the Pi and connect them to the Mac Mini?

Sorry about this. I'm a total noob. So here's question one - Does a Mac Mini require a charge? If it does, please disregard my "charging" comment.

So here's my setup right now:

Keyboard and mouse are connected to Raspberry Pi via USB, I would plug that into the Mac Mini

Raspberry Pi is connected to Screen with HDMI cord, I would unplug that and plug it in with one side on the Mac Mini and one side on the Screen

Raspberry Pi is powered by battery, I would unplug that to save power (Would I need to connect it to the Mac Mini? The charger is a Mini USB and I don't think it would work)

Thank you so much!
