Q: change the account setting on my iPad

HELP!!

For some reason when I set up my iPad i did not use the same email address as my other Apple accounts.  Now I want to do something on the iPad and it keeps asking me for my email password.  I do not remember it.  I have changed the password on my other Apple accounts but it doesn't work because the email is different.  How can I get into my iPad to change the email?

Thanks

Change it where, what is the 'something' that you want to do ? If for the stores tap on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then tap 'sign out' on the popup, you can then log in with a different account (anything downloaded by the currently logged in account will remain tied to that account) ; if for the cloud tap on Settings > iCloud > Sign Out

I want to change the email associated with my iPad.  It is not the same as my other apple accounts and I forgot the password.  I've changed the password on my other accounts but because the email is not the same it doesn't change the one on the iPad.  Is there a place to change the apple ID - email - on the iPad?

Where do you want to change it on your iPad ? By 'change the email associated with my iPad' do you mean for the stores, iCloud, Messages, FaceTime, Mail app, all of them ?

For the store : tap on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Store

For iCloud : Settings > iCloud > Sign Out

For Message : tap on the id in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive

For FaceTime : Settings > FaceTime

For the Mail app : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars

Sorry to be such a nuisance but when I try to sign out of say iCloud it says I need to use my apple ID to sign in and give a password.  The ID is already there but it is not the correct one and  I can't find where I can change it.  It will only let me enter a password (for this old ID). This is what I can't remember because it is an old email not associated with my other Apple IDs.  So I can't type it in.  It's like a catch 22.  I need a password to sign in but I can put the password in because I can't remember it.  I've tried to reset to the factory specs but I need a password to do that and I don't have it.  No matter what I try I need the password associated with the old email.  This is so frustrating.  I just don't know what to do anymore.

With activation lock (i.e. Settings > iCloud > Find My iPad) being 'on' you will be asked for the account's password to log out of the account, or if reset back to factory defaults to re-activate the iPad.

If you can't remember the account's password you can reset it via http://iforgot.apple.com

If you can't reset its password yourself try contacting Support in your country : Contact Apple for help with Apple ID account security - Apple Support

If they also can't reset it (they will only do so if they can confirm your id and that it's your account), and if you were the original purchaser of the iPad (i.e. it wasn’t bought used) then you could try going to an Apple Store (make a Genius Bar appointment if you do) or try contacting iTunes Support online (https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html) and see if they can remove the iPad from the account - they are likely to want to see proof of ownership before they might help e.g. original receipt with the serial number on it

Thank you for all of your help.  I finally got it to work.  My neighbor came over and did something and now everything is working great.  I appreciate all of your help.  Thanks again.
