EPSON Perfection V500 Photo Scanner to work with OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.5 HELP!! (apple support a BIG Disappointment)

trying to get my EPSON Perfection V500 Photo Scanner to work with OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.5 HELP!! (apple support a BIG Disappointment) installed all updates from mac store and Epson, Unit see scanner but won't scan from computer as it did before...Any Ideas solutions would be appreciated...

Thanks, Esquared. That does something. I had to tell Image Capture to Reset TWAIN Devices and the scanner came to life. Then, out of curiosity, I clicked on the Epson Scan software (I prefer it for scanning images, especially slides) and I was asked if I wanted to switch. I said yes and everything worked fine. Not exactly the elegant interface we have come to expect from Apple but workable. The problem is I tend to use the scanner in spurts separated by months of time so I hope I can recall this work around. Or, there will be a new upgrade by then and there will be new work arounds to learn. 🙂
