Apple TV remote Battery does not charge

The remote control of my Apple TV 4th generation is not charging. Kept it plugged for more than 24 hours, reset it etc... bug it still does not charge. It only works when connected to power source. How can this be fixed? Is it possible to change the battery? If yes, how? Thanks.

There's more than one way to charge the remote ...

Charge your remote

The Siri Remote takes about two and a half hours to fully charge and you can continue using your remote while it charges. There are two ways**to charge your remote:

  • Plug it in to your computer with the included Lightning to USB Cable.
  • Plug it in to a wall outlet with an Apple USB Power Adapter, such as the one that came with your iPhone or iPad. An Apple USB Power Adapter doesn't come with your Apple TV.

You can't charge your remote from your Apple TV.
