My USB internal 3.0 Bus and SD card reader have both quit working at the same time. Need help in restoring

On my Macbook Pro 13 inch Core I5 2.6 GHZ I have just noticed that my USB ports and the SD Card reader have stopped working. They USB 3.0 Bus and reader show up in the System Report information. I have tried resetting PRAM and SMC but no luck so far and my Time Machine Backup is on an SSD in a USB 3.0 disk drive case. Any ideas how to reset the USB 3.0 Bus and reader?
