Apple TV 3 and older HDMI CEC Support - specs?

Hello there, been looking at the threads here in the community - and i cannot quite get a clear answer if the Apple TV3 (not latest 4th Gen) can do HDMI CEC with EasyLink or Bravia Link TVs. I have a Philipps 5507K with EasyLink and it's not working on the Apple TV 3rd GEN for me. All i see is that it can do it with Jailbreaks, not interested in that ... so any tips if the 3rd Gen can be enabled for HDMI CEC properly and where the settings are ?

Okay thanks for that Winston Churchill - does that mean NO as in never or in any future upgrades with Apple TV 3 (it's not that old as far as hardware goes compared to the Apple TV 4 that is available now)
