Q: iPhone: Purchasing music on iTunes that won't download
So,
I'm on my iPhone buying single individual songs and I bought one and now it shows as "purchased" in iTunes but when I go to my Apple Music library it shows it there (all in grey) but gives me a "this item unavailable" & "this item can't be played" . I've restarted my iphone, tried to redownload it but nothing is working and I can't even play it or re-purchase it again.
HELP.
iPhone 6s, iOS 9.3.1

Hi elizabethenortega,
Thanks for checking out the Apple Support Communities! I understand that you're unable to play a song that you've purchased in iTunes as it's saying that 'this item is unavailable' and 'this item can't be played'. I listen to music on my iPhone all the time so I can certainly understand wanting to make sure that you are able to access all of your purchased music.
You've already tried some great steps to get your music working! The next step that I recommend trying is to force quit the music app and then re-opening it.
Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you're still having trouble after that, the next thing you'll want to check is that you're signed in to the correct Apple in Settings > iTunes & App Store. You'll need to be signed in to the same Apple ID that you used to purchase the song.
You can also go to Settings > Music and turn your iCloud Music Library off and back on. This will refresh your Apple Music Library. Keep in mind that doing this will remove the songs that you currently have downloaded for offline listening and you will need to re-download them again after you turn it back on.
Cheers!
