Multiple Similar Bluetooth Devices

Hello all,

I am curious to know if anyone has an efficient way to managing multiple bluetooth devices on their iPhones, particularly similar bluetooth items. Here's my exact household scenario:

I have 3 Bose Soundwave Minis in different areas around the house and bring with me to work, a living room stereo system using a a logitech bluetooth receiver, a bedroom stereo using a similar receiver, a stereo in my backyard using Roverbeats Unify bluetooth receiver, and another in my garage with a similar Roverbeats receiver.

Often times with the receivers, my phone will connect to a receiver in the other room despite literally being in front of the receiver I wish to pair with. So I am often either having to choose between keeping the receivers I don't wish to use unplugged, or selecting "forget connection" on my iPhone each time and just re-pairing. With the Bose Minis I have not found a way to rename each different unit which is confusing since they are all labeled the same in my Bluetooth connections list (I am able to rename each unique unit on my Macbook but will often still get confused and have trouble connecting, causing me to have to forget all connections with all the minis just to reconnect from scratch). I have each Mini labeled with A/B/C but don't have a way of differentiating each on my iPhone.

So essentially i'm constantly having to forget connections and/or keeping certain receivers unplugged. Has anyone found any simplified bluetooth utility feature to make renaming/prioritizing connections? I have an iPhone 5S 9.3.2.

The renaming you are doing on your computer just does it there not on the BT device itself. There is no similar feature in iOS because there is no user controllable file management. I don't know of any utility that will help you. The only thing I could suggest is turning off the BT devices and only turning them on when you are going to connect to them.

I think Deggie has the best workable solution.

I wouldn't think either the BT accessory folks, or the computer folks would assume a scenario like yours for a design consideration. It would be like having multiple routers in a single place.

Little comfort for you I know, but most users will have a single BT accessory or two and only one "sender"

Keeping the unneeded BT accessory OFF makes most sense to me as well. That way, only one existing pairing would ever be possible.
