Q: New hard drive ipod not synching to Itunes

I just got back my iPod which now has a new hard drive and logic board. It was syncing really fast at first, but once it got to 4.18 gb of songs then it stopped transferring and said the drive is not available.

Edit: Diagnostics says the iPod helper was removed by Norton, I'm trying a repair of iTunes.

iPod classic (120 GB), Windows 10, Recently repaired

If I'm not mistaken iPod helper is the program that launches iTunes when you connect an Apple device. It shouldn't be implicated in syncing. See Corrupt iPod Classic. What are the HDD stats? Try the break-up large transfers method.

If you paid for a new drive then I don't think you got one, unless somehow those stats are held over from the previous drive.

Caveat emptor then.

Try a quick format. Make sure all pendings have become reallocs, then restore and reload. Use the break up transfers method and check the stats after each batch to see how things are going. The device will run into trouble if the database or part of a folder gets stored somewhere it cannot be read back from.

I'll try that. The thing is the first time I sent it in it worked until May from November when my computer restarted while syncing, because I was in another room. I guess it is my fault for sending to someone other than apple.
