If they say it's normal then you may want to poke around in the settings. See if your phone is doing things, 'behind your back' so to speak. Such as if your mail is set to push, then it's reaching out to pull new e-mails from the server on a regular basis which can drain your battery. or see if you have background app refresh on. Apps reach out and update on their own which can affect your battery.
