Q: having problems messaging to noniphone users

my server says the messages are getting to them and believe it is the phone (iphone 5C new to me) holding it up. I have connected the phone to my itunes to update and it says it is updated...( if I did it properly)

iMac, I have a OSX 10.10 Yosemite

    Server?  What server?

     

    Messages to non-iPhone UPDATE: should say "non-Apple" users are sent as SMS text messages through your cellular carrier.

     

    The iPhone does not normally indicate any type of "received" action on the other end, as it would not know.

     

    UPDATE - I assume you are sending messages to non-Apple iPhone, but nonetheless cellular telephone users.
