Q: navigation works poorly on my siri remote

navigation works poorly on my siri remote.  It seems to stop working and then after several attempts it scrolls too far.  It is nearly impossible to use.  It is fully charged, and I reset my apple tv almost daily.  Is it broken?

Try setting the speed to slow. That has worked for me.

I can suggest to go into your Apple TV's settings and changing the remote sensitivity to something that suits you more.

    How To:

    • Be on the home screen of your Apple TV
    • Go to the Settings application
    • Select Remotes and Devices
    • Then change Touch Surface Tracking to something more suiting for you! It sounds like you should set it to slow according to your post.

I hope I was able to help you enjoy your Apple TV experience a little more!!

Hi Everyone,  Thanks for all the recommendations.  Unfortunately it is not a issue with the tracking settings.  It is some weird kind of bug, or product defect. I have tried all the settings, and I have tried resetting the Apple TV several times, and I have charged the remote.    The problem comes and goes, but when it is happening, the remote is basically unusable.  It wont track my finger at all, as I swipe across the top of the remote, and then after 5 or 10 tries it will jump to the end of the list that I am trying to scroll through.  It is getting to the point that I can't use the Apple TV.  I have not figured what is causing this, and I can't find a solution posted on Apple support pages.  I'm thinking this might be a hardware problem with my remote.  I'm wondering if anyone has had this problems and fixed it by getting a new remote.

Have you updated to the latest tvOS 9.2.1? See Settings>General>About to confirm.

Has the remote updated to version 245? See Settings>Remotes and Devices>Remote to confirm. If not, leave ATV sleeping overnight to let it update the remote.

    Hi,

I have the very same problem. Did you solve it somehow? Can't find much about it anywhere.

Apple has recommended my answer at the top of this thread. Try that?

Is there a way you can record a video on your iPhone, upload it to a video sharing site such as Youtube, or even dropbox, or google chrome? Then I can take a look into your problem!

After several hours it just started working again (as I was about to take a video, of course.)

I'll upload a video if it comes back though, since I might have the same issue as the original poster who says it comes and goes.
