Does Google Maps on iPhone offer "play voice during calls" setting option?

According to the article below, Google Maps released an update earlier this year that allows you to turn on/off the option to play voice navigation during phone calls. However, it doesn't show up on my 5C as an option in the Google Maps settings. Is this an Android-specific update? In another forum, a user took a screen grab of their Galaxy S7 and it had that option.

I am due to upgrade my phone and am planning to go tomorrow If this isn't an option on iPhone then I'll have to switch to an Android. I use Google Maps a lot and it just doesn't work to have the voice talking over my calls. Even with the "voice over Bluetooth" option turned off in Google Maps, it will talk over my calls.

So, anyway, I'm curious if this option is available on the newer models of the iPhone. Hope so...or hope that someone can suggest a workaround to keep it from happening.

TIA

Hi jmg0157,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities for help. I understand that you want to know if you can mute voice alerts in Google Maps while on a phone call. I know it's important to have the right functionality in your apps so that they work best for your needs, so I'm happy to help provide you some resources for this.

In order to be sure that you are eligible for the latest updates, I would recommend backing up your iPhone, and then updating it to the latest version of iOS, which is currently iOS 9.3.2. You can see more about how to do that here:

Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Once updated, if you still do not have the features you are looking for, I would recommend reaching out to Google's support for Maps here:

Cheers!

So I went into a VZW today and checked out a Galaxy S7 and the Google Maps app did, indeed, have the "play voice during calls" option that could be turned off. When I looked at a iPhone 6S, they didn't have Google Maps installed so I wasn't able to tell. I've got the latest version of the app on my 5S, so that leads me to assume this an Android-specific feature.

Do any iPhone users show this function in their Google Maps app??
