Jul 9, 2016 10:54 PM in response to elfcakeby seventy one,I believe your MacBook Pro mid 2009 would have been shipped with 4Gb of RAM. If that is the case and you have since upgraded to El Capitan (10.11.5), unless you have upgraded your RAM to 8GB, the chances are your problem is more likely to be a shortage of RAM causing the Kernal Panic. If you have the 4Gb of RAM, then upgrade to 8Gb. Go to Crucial or OWC (MacSales) where you can get reliable products and make sure you have the full details of the MBP to hand when you call.
