Q: My personal Youtube videos won't load but others' will

Hi All,

This is a strange situation and I'm not sure what could be the cause. When I'm trying to watch my own videos that I have uploaded on my channel (in Safari), the videos freeze in less than a second after they start playing. However, while those videos are locked up and trying to load, I can click on someone else's video off to the right and those immediately start playing and do not lock up.

Any idea what could be the cause for this and some suggested fixes?

I am experiencing this on Version 9.1.1 (11601.6.17) of Safari and 10.11.5 of El Capitan on OSX.

Everything runs fine in Chrome.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

    Hello Csphilli255,

Thank you for being part of the Apple Community!

It is my understanding you are experiencing issues trying to play videos from one page of a particular site, while able to play videos from another page within that same site without any issues.  I use my MacBook Air to watch all kinds of videos so I know how important this can be.

The first thing I would do is to remove the cookies, cache, and other data stored by Safari for this specific page.

If Safari doesn't load pages from a specific site

If only one webpage or website isn't working, you can remove data related to that site to see if it fixes the issue. Use these steps to remove cookies, cache, and other data stored by Safari for a specific site:

    1. Choose Safari > Preferences.
    2. Click the Privacy icon.
    3. Click the Details button.
    4. Search for the name or domain of the website whose data you want to remove.
    5. In the results list, click the domain (like example.com) that has data you want to remove.
    6. Click Remove.
    7. When you're finished, click Done and close the preferences window.

remove history, cookies, cache, website data, for a specific site

If you used the Private Browsing feature of Safari when visiting a website, you might not see the site listed here.

If Safari doesn‘t load a page or webpage items are missing

    Have a great day!
