Q: Icloud photos

So I guess I don't like the way how Icloud doesn't give you the option to not keep any photos or videos on your device but just purely access everything from the cloud. For example, instead of keeping a simplified picture of someone on your device while keeping the full res one in the cloud. INSTEAD we could store all the full res photos in our cloud but not keep any form of the photo on our device. For offline use I guess we could have a simplified version of it on our device but when it goes online it jumps back to making you access everything from the cloud.

Is there any app that exists such as wetransfer, dropbox, or google drive that allows you to do something similar to this?

Also I just downloaded dropbox on my iphone to test out something. When doing this, I attempted to upload a picture onto facebook with the dropbox app. But it wouldn't let me. It would only let me do it from the camera roll app. Is there a way I can ditch or diminish the use of the camera roll app and stick soley to the dropbox app? IS there a way I can upload something to facebook using the dropbox app instead of the camera roll app? IS there a way I can integrate dropbox into all the picture uploading i do into certain apps?

Can anyone recommend something similar to my idea that I laid out here?

I don't think you thought this through. How exactly do you expect your device to know in advance when you'll end up being offline, so it can re-download those simplified versions? Then keeping to delete them and redownloading each time your online status changes?

iCloud Photos Library can be set to an Optimized local library on your device. It will then keep adjusting the library size dynamically, based on how much free storage is available.

In the end, iCPL is all about making all photos accessible everywhere and syncing all actions performed anywhere, including deletions and edits, to all other iCPL devices. If you don't need that functionality, then indeed, you should look elsewhere.
