Q: Iphone 6 Home button doesn't work?

Hello guys, a couple of days ago i accidentally spilled some juice over my iphone and the screen died... I tried to open the phone and "fix" it by dry it out, it worked.. Well kind of, but the screen was damaged due the half screen was really bright and you could see some lines (which isn't normal) and the other half was black, but it was still functional.. Howeber the screen only worked when i opened the phone and removed the home button cabel, this one:

As soon as i connected it back the screen "died"...

So i ordered a new LCD screen to replace it (It's not the first time i replace a new screen)...

Anyway the new screen arrived and it was time to replace it, however i occured another problem, since the juice is not all water it contains some sugar and fat and it made the metal plate inside the phone sticky and "ruined" the metal LCD shield back plate.. Here is a picture for what i mean:

So i ordered a new metal LCD shield back plate with that home button thingy:

Now when i connect all the cables back to the way it was, the screen works great even though the home button cable (picture shown above), is connected...

BUT the home button itself doesn't work... When i remove the Home Button cable (picture above), and connect carefully, i don't connect it all the way in but just nudge it slighty against the connector, it responds and it takes me back to the menu (i opened an app), even though i don't touch the home button itself...

Do any of you know what the problem is?

I've tried everything and it wont work!

iPhone 6, iOS 9.2
