AHT isn't the most reliable tool, Apple has better tests for your hardware. So if hardware is suspected, best to bring it to any Apple store for a free evaluation.

Jul 10, 2016 10:18 AM in response to nilanjenatorby Allan Jones,Trackpad issues can also be a swollen battery. if it is putting upward pressure on the underside of the trackpad assembly, strange things can happen. You need to check for this immediately because the swelling WILL continue with the potential to permanently damaging expensive bits, and eventually leaking caustic chemicals--that can take out the entire logic board.
