Why do my photos delete from the mac?

Hi,

Hoping someone can give me some pointers.

I have plugged my phone and iPad into the mac and imported all my photos, but when i delete a photo from the phone or iPad it will also delete from my mac. Help! i don't want to loose my photos. I have iCloud photo sharing switched on it this helps.

Thanks in Advance.

Megan,

You say " I have iCloud photo sharing switched on", but what about "iCloud Photo Library"?

If iCloud Photo Library is enabled your devices will be in sync. iCloud will ensure, that you are seeing the same photos on all devices. So, if you delete a photo from your iPhone, it will be removed from the Mac as well. Disable iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone, if you do not want the same photos on the iPhone as on your Mac.
