Apple TV (9.2.1) drops internet connection when attempting to use Siri

Greetings,

I believe i'm having network related issues with my Apple TV. Everything works fine for the most part. But sometimes, specifically but not limited to, when I attempt to use Siri, the Apple TV almost always drops the internet/wifi connection. I've included a photo below of exactly what it looks like. I've scoured as much online as I can but it does not look like anyone else is experiencing the same problems.

I've called Apple Support and they suggested I connect to another wifi source. I utilized my hotspot on my iPhone and the Apple TV worked fine without any hiccups in the connection. This leads me to believe it is firewall related.

However, I've literally disabled every firewall setting I can find in my router and still cannot find a fix. I am also using a WAP in addition to router which is what my Apple TV is connected to. My WAP is an enterprise level device but I am having issues accessing the network admin features of it. Before I go and reset my WAP I wanted to get additional advice from people with networking and firewall experience, specifically with services like Siri.

Thanks in advance. Pics and additional device info below.

Michael

I'd agree it's unlikely to be firewall related and to try 5 GHz if you are experiencing interference. However 5 GHz is a weaker signal then 2.4 GHz and would not be a solution if your problem is related to a weak signal.

Do you have issues with your network other than when you use the remote, the quote below statement below suggests you do.

But sometimes, specifically but not limited to, when I attempt to use Siri

What is your signal strength when you are connected to the network and do you have any issues streaming content from the internet.

Thanks for the response Winston, my Apple TV is not far from my WAP. I have a full 5 bar signal strength on my 5 GHz network every time I check.

I have no interruptions when streaming content. However when navigating menus (netflix, youtube, etc.), even without attempting to use Siri, the Apple TV will give me the "no network detected" alert in the top right hand corner. But only momentarily and then my connection is restored. Unless, of course, I attempt to use Siri.

Hmmm, so you actually have no trouble with the WiFi connection until you invoke Bluetooth, then ATV drops the connection. Even though they're in different frequency bands. My configuration is similar and that never happens; the 5 GHz WiFi connection is rock-solid for weeks. I wonder if the Bluetooth signal is upsetting the WAP, causing it to reset. Can you access logs in the WAP that might indicate what's going on?

Ok guys, I reset my WAP and restored my network admin rights. There were no firewall settings on my WAP, however, this did reset all my network devices and decongest my networks (both of which are WPA2-Personal) This seems to have solved my problem. I know to some of you this may be bizarre but my problem is solved and I am happy. Thanks for your help. If you think of any questions you would like to ask me, feel free to reply and I will get back to you.
