Q: Mac Mail Version 9.3 Not sending Mail

Hi. Have been using mac mail for awhile now and all of a sudden it has decided not to send my mail. I can receive but not send. I haven't changed any of the preferences. Can someone please help. All the topics I have looked up I can't seem to find what they are talking about with the STMP or whatever it is server. Please Help, I'm lost!!

Mac Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding you've been unable to send mail on your Mac. I surely understand the importance of being able to send emails. I am happy to get this resolved with you.

First make sure your have installed the latest Mac software updates. You can use the following link for assistance.
Update the software on your Mac

The Mail Connection Doctor can help explain why your mail isn't sending. To access the Mail Connection Doctor open the Mail app, then choose Window > Connection Doctor. The link below provides some additional information on the errors you might see.
