Jul 10, 2016 6:10 PM in response to Themis008by theratter,This is brand new hardware you just purchased which is fully covered by your warranty. You also have 90 days of free telephone support. You should use it, or make an appointment at the Apple Genius Bar for service. If needed find an Apple Store - Find a Store - Apple.

Jul 10, 2016 6:29 PM in response to Themis008by BigGee42,Why on earth would you pick up a Macbook or any laptop by the screen?
Seriously - don't do that!
Sure, it shouldn't switch off when you do but you're going to damage it by doing that and at some point it won't be covered by warranty.
I would definitely recommend you take it to an Apple store and get them to look at it, but you also need to get out of the habit of lifting it by the screen. That is not good for it.

Jul 10, 2016 6:31 PM in response to Themis008by theratter,We are all users just like you. We have no way of knowing an answer to such a question. What difference would it make to know? Just take it to Apple and get it fixed. If you are in the grace period of 14 days from date of purchase, then you can get your money returned, have it replaced, or exchange it for another model.

Jul 10, 2016 6:44 PM in response to theratterby Themis008,Thanks for the reply. I have sort it out after doing a little bit of experiment. I was keeping my macbook on top of a macbook case which has a magnetic lock. So the magnet was mimicking like the macbook is being closed when i lift up and put it down. So I will never put a magnetic substance under or near to it.
