    Hello Curt,

     

    Thanks for asking your question here in the Apple Support Communities. Seems Yahoo is not connecting on your iPhone 6s. I understand how important email is for everything these days. Let me try to offer a few things you can do to test an hopefully get this up and running as you expect.

     

    The first thing we want to ensure is that all your data is safe. You can make a backup in iCloud or iTunes. Use this article for help with that: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

     

    Once your data is safe, try working through the troubleshooting in this help article from Apple: Get help with Mail on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

     

    If you still have issue, you will want to try this reset: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network. Use the section titled 'Still can't connect?' and follow the steps to Reset Network Settings. This brings network settings back to the factory defaults. Then, you can try your email again.

     

    If your email account from Yahoo is an IMAP account, you can verify the settings here: Apple Mail Settings Lookup, then you can remove the account, and set it up again. This article should help you with that. Follow the steps in the article, but delete the account, then you can re-add the account from the rest of the instructions. Set up an email account on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

    Thanks, but none of this worked. I can sign in fine on one of my accounts. The other one says "internet connection is unavailable".  I can sign in fine on both accounts with Firefox. I am only having this problem with Yahoo Mail and Safari.

     

    My account is a yahoo.com account. My wife has a yahoo.jp account and she is having the same problem, internet connection unavailable for Yahoo Mail.

     

    All other web browsing works fine, only Yahoo Mail does not. Trying to contact Yahoo is out of the question. They no longer have an avenue for customers to ask questions or seek help, other than the Help pages. No more talking directly to them. Hope this helps explain the problem.

    Hello Curt,

     

    Thanks for continuing your mail issues here in the Apple Support Communities. It seems like you have an issue within Safari, or the necessary port for Yahoo or secure websites is not open. Since you attempted everything I recommended, the best route I can recommend is to contact Apple and have them assist you in troubleshooting the issue.     Tim,

     

    Thank you. Although nothing I tried corrected the problem, I let it sit for a couple of days and it is working fine now. Will check my wife's phone later. I am thinking it must have been a Yahoo problem. Too bad we cannot talk to them about it.
