Disk utility says that my MacBook only has 922 GB available I was wondering if this is the correct amount of space for the 1TB model?

Disk Utility will show the size of the HDD In TOTAL CAPACITY.
AVAILABLE indicates how much empty space is on a given volume.
To check, download from the Internet OmniDiskSweeper and Grand Perspective (both free) and open them. They will show all of your files and the respective sizes.
