I created a new apple ID as I no longer have access to my old email, I keep getting notification to sign in to icloud from my old ID and when I try to sign in it doesn't recognise my old email or password. Can someone please advise how I stop the notification.

As you found out, creating a new Apple ID was not the best thing to do. All App & iTunes Store purchases are permanently tied to an Apple Id. Creating a new Apple ID means you will have to purchase those items again if you want them. In the future, use this procedure:
