Freezing at the import screen?

Hi, all. Me again. Right now, I'm trying to import footage, and FCPX freezes at the import screen, then I have to force quit and open it again, only for it to freeze once again when I try to import footage. The program itself appears to be working okay, aside from that. I tried just clicking and dragging the video files, but that isn't working, either. Any suggestions on how to fix it, or alternative ways to import the media? Again, thank you all for your help! You guys are great!

You need to give the complete tech specs for the media you're talking about and for your system.

Media is all MOV files. Is that helpful, or should I get more specific?

That's not the inspector window of the QuickTime player. There is no tech information there.

What are the system specs?

Someone else shot it, and my boss gave me the footage on a flash drive, which I then put on my hard drive. Should I just take a screenshot of the Quicktime Inspector?

Yes please. The problem may be the flash drive. How is it formatted? The info inspector is showing a 64 GB file. Is that right? That will be a major problem if the drive is not correctly formatted.

It keeps freezing at the import screen, though. It won't even give me a chance to import that footage. Hold on, I'll try importing footage from a different source to see if it's the clips that are the problem.

Select the flash drive. Use Cmd-I and look at the info for the drive.

Don't think you can import a 64 GB file off that drive. Needs to be Mac OS formatted or exFAT. Can you get a MacOS drive and copy the file to it in the Finder?
