Trying to give my daughter my old iPad. Set up family sharing. Can't delete photos

This is turning into a real pita. I set up family sharing for the old iPad which is very low on space I'm trying to clear it out I can't seem to get rid of the photos it's probably best just to get rid of the whole library but everything is showing up. Can't seem to even delete individual photos which would take years to do anyway if it did work . turning off all the iCloud photo options and turning them back on didnt do anything
