new to aperture, are there any video tutorials

There is an excellent Aperture User Manual: http://documentation.apple.com/en/aperture/usermanual/index.html#chapter=5%26sec tion=17%26tasks=true

And there used to be good video tutorials, but Apple took them down, when it stopped the developement of Aperture. The support page now links to the Photos for MAc application.

The Apple's tutorials have not been updated for quite some time anyway and do not work with the current Aperture version 3.6.

Try to make do with the manual.

But be aware, that Aperture is no longer well supported by Apple. For example, you can no longer order print products from Aperture, and known bugs will no longer be fixed.The next system update may break the compatibility seriously.
