Q: It doesn't work with my Airport Extrem

Sorry, but it doesn't work with my Airport Extrem. When I press on the red badge, I only have the name of my device with all net details, but not the opportunity to update my firmware. Thank you in advance for your help.

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

    You might well find the Extreme MUST be connected by ethernet..

     

    It must be connected to the main router by ethernet and to the computer by ethernet.

     

    This was not an issue in the past with previous updates but apparently Apple are forcing updates over ethernet which is fairly standard practice on most routers.. wireless is not to be trusted.

     

    If it does not work then post again in the same thread please..

     

    There is a manual method to do the firmware update.

     

    It is also not such a huge issue.. other than ignoring the issue to get back to a green light.. it is going to do very little to your network to improve anything.
