Q: MagSafe 2 plug (the part that plugs into the computer) is getting very hot.
Hi! I have a MacBook Air (Early 2015) and when I charge it, the plug that plugs into the laptop is getting very hot (I can barely touch it). This happens only when I'm using the computer while I'm charging it. When the MacBook is in sleep mode the plug doesn't get hot. Is this normal or something in my MacBook is broken?
MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

Check the contacts on both the charger and the MBA. They should be clean with no discoloration. The pins on the charger connection are spring loaded. Make certain they can move freely.
The connection should not get hot. In necessary, make an appointment at am Apple store genius bar for a FREE evaluation. The connections on my MBPs are at about the same temperature as the MBP case.
Ciao.
