Dropped my iPod photo and now it's working, will it last?

So I read and watched a few videos about the iPod Photo or 4th gen (whatever it's called) having the frowning faced screen and it would do that then quickly show a charging symbol then it shut off and showed the apple logo, then repeat. I followed the steps on forming it into disco mode and it failed then came across a forum jokingly saying drop it on the carpeted floor, well... I held it upside down just above waist level and let it drop to the floor, the screen went from beeing dimly lit to bright and I thought "no way". Right now it is currently working perfectly fine, and to think most apple products are ruined by dropping them to the ground, well this one seems to so far be fixed. Advice if your ipod seems doomed just drop it.
