Unable to determine current location at this time El Capitan

Hello.

Recently I have this problem with my Macbook pro. I have the location services enable, as you can see.... User uploaded file

... but my computer is unable to determine current location in date and time. Maps and find my mac are also not working either.

Currently, I have the version 10.11.5 of El Capitan. This happened from one day to the other, I didn't update the software or anything.

Thanks,

Edgar Lopes

If the Router you are connecting to has an unknown location, then your location will be reported as "cannot be determined" regardless of how good you have specified it in System Preferences > Date&Time.

I had this same problem in my home -- until we had a party. After that all the visitors' iPhones had triangulated the Router locations precisely. So much so that each of the three Routers responds with a location that is slightly different.

This procedure will delete certain temporary and cache files. The files are automatically generated and don't contain any of your data. Occasionally they can become corrupt and cause problems such as yours.

Please back up all data and read this whole message before doing anything.

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

/var/folders/zz/zyxvpxvq6csfxvn_n00000sm00006d

Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select

Services Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)

from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with a subfolder selected. The subfolder has a long name beginning with "zyx" and ending with "6d". Move that subfolder to the Trash. Don't move any of the other subfolders with similar names. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Restart the computer and empty the Trash.

*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select

Go Go to Folder...

from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You may not see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

Location services allows apps & websites to gather & use information based on the current location of your computer , you have to give your permission before an app or website can use your location data .

Your approx location is determined using info from local wi -fi networks & is collected by location services in a manner that doesn't personally identify you .

If you allow third party apps or websites to use your current location , you are subject to their terms & privacy policy & practises . you should review the apps or websites terms , privacy policy & practises to understand how they use your location & other information .

In the screen shots disable maps , weather , the arrows will vanish after 24 hours , for security reason location services is generally disabled . if the user wants to enable in iCloud at that time location services can be enabled & when the task is completed it should be disabled .

For example if user is using Facebook , twitter etc the user must avoid disclosing the location .

my answer for your question is totally different , in our system we have enabled location services it sometimes work or do not work .

As in screen shot of yours arrow heads are shown it means some third party app or web site is trying to locate your system .
