Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. From your post, I understand you are missing some of the functionality of your GarageBand project when trying to import them into Logic Pro X. I know it's important to have all of the functionality you'd expect, so I'm happy to provide some direction to help.
In order to ensure that your project is compatible, you will first want to open the project in GarageBand on your Mac, and then save it. This will ensure that it is a format that works best with Logic Pro X.
Once you have done this, if you have any other issues, check out the help documents for Logic Pro X that we provide here:
Cheers!

Jul 12, 2016 6:41 PM in response to erin_b1by jakeyboy29,thank you for the reply. Ok so are you implying that i need to purchase GB on my mac?
I did think this could be a solution but i have purchased GB iOS and also Logic Pro X so it is more principle of buying yet another product literally just for a few loops when i won't use GB for Mac at all.

Jul 13, 2016 9:00 AM in response to jakeyboy29by Johann.B,In order to ensure proper compatibility, you'll want GarageBand on your MacBook Pro so that you can create the right files. Depending on the age of your MacBook Pro, GarageBand may have come with it. To check for this, open the App Store through your Apple Menu (). Then click on the Purchases tab, and look for it there.
You can see more about that here:

Cheers!
