I turned on my ipod touch after very long time and it does seem to be disabled... I tried to restart it with restoration option, but it keeps going back to the same mode.... on my laptop it shows it asks for a passcode, but on the ipod touch screen, it does not appear. Please help. thank you.

Your problem seems to be that Recovery mode is timing out before the firmware download is completed.

Follow the instructions in the following to first download the firmware and then place the iPod in Recovery mode and restore via iTunes. Make sure you download the current iOS version for your iPod. For a 5G/6G it is 9.3.2 and make sure you download the firmware for you devices since iPhone firmware will not install on a iPod

Use the Step 5 update using iTunes instructions but download the firmware for your device. Note that if you try to restore to an earlier iOS version you will only get errors
