How to install Windows 8.1 on Mac El Capitan via Bootcamp 6?

Dear community,

I'm really struggling with installing Windows 8.1 (single language, official download) on my Mac 13" retina (early 2015), with El Capitan 10.11.5, using Bootcamp 6.0.0. I have followed all instructions and nothing happens (see screenshot).

- I've tried partitioning on both 55GB and 65GB to see if it made any difference, but no.

- I've tried creating a boost USB with the windows ISO image on it, erased and cleaned the usb first and made it ready for windows.

- I've tried boosting from the ISO image on the Mac harddrive (as it is supposed to work on Bootcamp 6), but all show same result.

I'm starting to wonder, is there any solution to this? I can't believe it isn't possible :/

What is the size of the ISO file? Anything larger than 4.5+ GB is suspect as a mixed 32-bit/64-bit ISO which is incompatible with BC Assistant.

Does BCA prompt you for a USB to create a USB Installer? Do not connect any external peripherals or storage unless requested to do so. Unmount the ISO file, if it is mounted on your desktop.

You can download the official and appropriate ISO, for free, from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/home . Please use only the 64-bit ISOs. Post the md5sum of the ISO file for validation.

You may also need to run the following two procedures before your next attempt.

Hi Loner T,

Thank you for your reply. I've been trying out your suggestions, but none seems to make it work, unfortunately.

Now, I'm trying to download Windows 8.1 Single Language ISO from a Safari browser to see it that would work...

- My ISO is only 4,2GB, so I guess it's not a mixed 32-64-bit ISO.

- No message about creating a USB installer.

- I've got the official windows version to being with, but still no result.

- As I see the SMC and NVRAM are just for restarting the computer, do I need to alter anything? In that case I don't see where...

I hope you can help, because I really don't see what is wrong...

Kindly,
