screenshot disappears--where is it?
On my Macbook Pro (OS-El Capitan), I take a screen shot, the camera shutter clicks, but no photo appears on my desktop. I've tried rebooting as suggested by others. Any thoughts?
If you have dropbox— look there.

Thanks for the suggestion. Not there, though.
Open Terminal and type this in:
defaults write com.apple.screencapture location ~/Desktop
Press Enter, then type:
killall SystemUIServer
Press enter. Now try taking the screenshot again.
You can open screenshots with Preview .
