Unable to Locate iTunes files

When I click on a song to play, I get a message that iTunes is unable to locate my file. I manually locate it, and ask for it to search for other missing songs at the same time, but I still have 80% or more of my songs missing. I uninstalled iTunes and all of it's component softwares (ie Bonjour) but when I reinstall, all my songs show up as before, unable to locate. How can I uninstall and reinstall a completely fresh version of iTunes in which I have to tell it to import songs from my computer drive?
