Q: Itunes 12.4.1 won't recognise devices, solution?

So I downloaded the new iTunes about a week ago, and since then both my ipad and iphone are not picked up by iTunes (specs below). I use a PC, but have never had this issue before. I tried turning them both off and on, updating them, running diagnostics, all of it. I did pretty much everything I could understand in the apple support article about what to do when iTunes doesn't recognise a device, to no solution. I would like to be able to sync my iphone eventually.... anyone have a solution?

iphone- iphone 4s

ipad- ipad air

itunes 12.4.1

laptop- hp windows 10

driver states up to date, devices up to date and itunes up to date, both usb cables working as devices are charging.

iPhone 4S

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities, marymcleese!

It seems that iTunes on your Windows 10 PC isn't seeing your devices. You've also completed excellent troubleshooting steps. In fact, they'd be ones I would recommend. So, since you need to be able to sync your iOS devices with iTunes, I'll be glad to help!

The easiest solution to get your iOS devices recognized is to remove then reinstall the iTunes app on your PC. -- Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows 7 and later

When you reach "Remove iTunes and its related components from the Control Panel", be sure to remove iTunes and it's components in that specific order. Afterwards, you can simply go to this site and download a fresh copy. -- Download iTunes

Remember, restart your PC after you've installed it again to make sure the Windows drivers are set correctly.

    Take care!
