So a couple days ago I was deleting some pictures from my photos to make more space on my phone. And I took a screenshot of something. And that was the last time I was able to properly use the functions of the photos app. 2 days ago, I proceeded to take a screenshot, went to my photos app to try and send to a friend. I didn't see the screenshot. I thought it was weird, but I tried again and again and nothing happened. The latest photo was still the picture i screenshotted a couple days before. I thought "Okay... weird, I just deleted some pictures, it can't be because i ran out of storage, and even if I did a message would have popped up telling me. Oh well, let's try deleting a picture or two and see if I can take that screenshot." So I go to the photos, check off one picture to delete, clicked the trash can button on the bottom right corner and then I see it seemingly disappear. However, I am not taken out of the selection screen (the screen you're taken to where you can check off pictures to delete, move, or send to people). I'm still in that screen and whenever I try to click cancel in the top right corner, nothing happens. And then the photos app just freezes and exits out. Super weird. I open up the photos app again and that picture that I thought was successfully deleted? Is still there!
Now that's what's been going on with my photos app.
My camera app on the other hand, oh boy. It looks like it works fine, the cameras work and i can take pictures. However, when i go and take a picture, the screen camera does the shutter sound, takes a picture, and i see the picture being moved to my photos and into the bottom left hand corner of the camera app. The picture i just took stays there for about 2 seconds, until it just disappears 2 seconds later leaving that bottom left hand corner to just be a dark grey box, signifying the I hadn't taken a picture since I opened the camera app.
Side note: Can't save pictures from the internet, can't save my things on my snapchat either.
So basically, my photos app just isn't working properly; I can't delete pictures, I can't save pictures, I can't take pictures and have them be automatically saved to my photos (I had to go to my messages and go to one of my contacts, pretend I'm sending someone a picture, use that camera screen that comes up, send them the picture I just took, just so that when my photos app is working again, I can go back to our conversation and save those pictures).
Can someone tell me what's wrong? I have an iPhone 5, the regular one, not even the 5s. So it's an old model, and and old phone, probably like 2 or 3 years so I know it's bound to have problems and I've already had my fair share of problems with it, but this camera and photos problem just came so randomly that I'm wondering if there's something else to the problem.
