Q: Will Apple fix my MacBook Air which was purchased in other country?
I have a MBA purchased in 2014 in Taiwan. Recently it suddenly wouldn't start no matter how I tried. I brought it to an Apple Authorized Service Provider for a check up (which cost me $40), and they said the motherboard needs to be replaced. It will cost me another $600 because obviously my warranty has expired. Meanwhile my friend in US said he brought his MBP to an Apple store for fixing. They charged him $280 and replaced several problematic parts. BTW His warranty also expired. I was wondering if I can do the same thing since I'm going to US for a visit next month anyway. Will Apple provide service for a MBA purchased in other country?
BTW it is very disappointing that my MBA died in less than 2 years of use. I mostly used it at home and treated it quite nicely. It shakes my confidence on Apple for sure.
Thanks.
