BBC news notifications on watch

hI I have bbc new set to send news notifications on my phone and set to mirror my phone on my watch. They show on my phone Notification Center but don't make a sound, as you would expect as I have set watch to receive them, but they are not coming up on my watch. They have done in the past but are not now. I have looked at all setting and they seem to be ok. Is this something that has happened after an upgrade

If notifications are not behaving as expected, the following steps may help:

Check your settings for alerts on your iPhone:

  • On your iPhone, go to: Settings > Notifications > BBC News:
    • Turn on the settings for Allow Notifications and for Sounds.
    • Check also that Show in Notification Centre and Show on Lock Screen are enabled.
  • Check your iPhone volume setting for ringer and alerts.
  • Check that the Ring/Silent switch (on the side of your iPhone) is not set to silent mode.

You have already confirmed that the Watch app is configured to Mirror Alerts for the app.

Update your iPhone and Apple Watch to the latest software, starting with your iPhone:

Check for and install any available updates for the BBC News app:

  • On your iPhone, go to: App Store > Updates.

Restart both your iPhone and watch, turning both off together and then restarting your iPhone first:

Unpair and re-pair your watch.

If the issue persists, I suggest that you consult the developer support resources and/or contact the developer to report it and seek assistance with their app:

Hi

How notifications behave depends on the status of your devices and your settings. With Wrist Detection enabled, in order to bring notifications to your attention as soon as possible:

- If your iPhone is unlocked, you will receive notifications on your iPhone instead of on your watch.

- If your iPhone is locked or asleep and your watch is unlocked (regardless of whether the watch screen is asleep or awake) and on your wrist, you will receive notifications on your watch.

- If your watch is locked or has Do Not Disturb enabled, notifications will go to your iPhone.
