Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. I know how important getting your GarageBand app and songs back is to you! Good news is the following articles will be helpful in troubleshooting your issue of missing the GarageBand app and songs you were working on:
1. Try checking your past purchases in the App Store on your iPad and download again:
2. If you check past purchases and it says “Open” next to GarageBand but you still cannot find the app on your Home screen, you may need to reset the Home screen by going to Settings > General > Reset and tap the Reset Home Screen Layout option.
3. If you need to recover the songs, the best way would be to restore from a backup:Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup
If you used iCloud Drive to store your songs, you can access them or import them from iCloud Drive back to your iPad.
Use iCloud with GarageBand - GarageBand for iPad
Cheers!
