Q: I need to back up my iphone, but it's not connecting to my cellular data.

I recently got a new iPhone6s, because I could not connect to the cellular data on my iPhone6.  Once I received the new iPhone6s, I started from my most recent back up.  Low and behold, it had the same problem.  It seems like there is some issue with something in the back up.  It works fine when I start as a new iPhone, but immediately stops connecting to the cellular data when I try to restore it from a back up.  It looks like I am going to have to start over from scratch, but I want to salvage as much of my old information as possible(and without a lot of difficulty).  Any suggestions or ideas?  Thank you in advance!!!

I had to do that last year on an iPad and I can offer two suggestions.

First, I took a bunch of screenshots of all my critical Settings and Apps so they would be easier to reconfigure after the restore as new.

Secondly, import your photos (and any data) to your computer following the steps below, including all the screenshots your may have taken above. Then you can view the SS on the computer while reconfiguring your iPhone. It will take time.

Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Edit: Before you commit to a Restore as New you may want to try resetting the Network Settings:  Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. It could help.
