Q: Photos on iPad mini not in order

The photos on my iPad mini are not in order when I create a new album (even if I select them in order). How can I arrange them by date taken?

iPad Mini, iOS 9.2, 4th generation, 64GB

The only way I know of to sort albums in the Photos.app is by using iCloud Photo Library and sorting the album on the Mac. And even then the sort order will not sync reliably.

 

The ability to keep photos sorted has never been a high priority in the photo applications. Even in Photos on the Mac has the ability to sort photos in albums only recently added with el Capitan. We can still not sort the photos in the film strip of a book, in. a slideshow, or in a shared album.

    Thanks. I did a live chat with Apple Support and the guy wanted me to do a reset of my settings. So apparently, they should automatically be in order. Perhaps it's just a glitch.
