In trying to set up Apple Pay on my phone (6) and on my watch-both running the latest software, I am asked to type in a verification cade that I receive by text. The code includes a dash - as in 123-45, but I don't see a dash on the tiny numerical keyboard. There has to be a simple solution. Thanks.

I suggest that you call your bank (ask to speak with the Apple Pay verification team), advise them of the issue and ask them to instead verify your identity by phone and manually approve the addition of your card to your devices.
Hit the numeric (123) key. The dash (hyphen) is there at the bottom.

Often, you don't actually need to include the dash. It's sometimes there just to make it easier for a human to read. Other times, the field into which you're supposed to type it will auto populate the dash. What happens when you try to type it in?

The number I type in is 'dashless' and the bank rejects the verification. I had hoped to avoid calling the bank, but I can't see another way out. Thanks for asking.
I had to call to complete the addition of my debit card. The number the bank gave in Wallet was dedicated to just that. It took me less than five minutes. Hopefully, your bank will be as efficient.
