Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
It is my understanding that you are not able to receive text messages from iPhones on your Galaxy s5. I know I like to receive all my messages from all my friends. I recommend making sure all the steps in the following article have been taken:Get help if you can’t receive text messages from an iPhone

Jul 15, 2016 12:21 PM in response to Alwayswantingtohelp1by catmcgrath84,I read the link you provided but in my original question I mentioned that I did all those things that the link told me to do. I turned off iMessages and Facetime. I deactivated my number with apple. I changed my Apple ID password. I still cannot get iPhone messages.

Jul 15, 2016 12:44 PM in response to catmcgrath84by imobl,You cannot receive messages sent from iMessage on a non-Apple
device such as your Galaxy s5.
What app are the iPhone users using to send you messages? They
will not be able to reach your Galaxy s5 using iMessage, but will have
to use another messaging app.

Jul 15, 2016 1:02 PM in response to imoblby catmcgrath84,So I have call every single person with an iPhone (which is a TON) and tell them to download some other message app just to text me? That seems a little ridiculous. Apple has no other solution? I am a HUGE apple fan (can't get an iPhone at the moment thus the Galaxy s5). Apple just took a major hit in my book. From what I can tell from the internet this has been an issue for YEARS. If turning off iMessages is supposed to work and deactivating my number from Apple why wouldn't that work? I'm extremely frustrated. Not with whoever is trying to help me but that this process is so COMPLICATED.

using iMessage if they have a messaging plan with their wireless provider and
if they have chosen to allow iMessage to send SMS when recipient is not using
iMessage.
Use Messages with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Can you sent SMS to the iPhone users?
