Window ▹ Connection Doctor

Jul 14, 2016 2:37 PM in response to Howard Hassby garyfromrio linda,I hope that you don't have comcast. I too had sudden problems this morning with email, couldn't connect to imap server. Intermittent receive and no send. Email would just go to draft folder and it showed message sent but no connection to smtp server. Contacted Comcast who said to reinstall email app to which I told them I was on a mac and to reinstall app I would have to reinstall OS. Then they wanted me to change my settings in Mail which were the settings that I had already in place, then they wanted to create new account but Mail wont allow it when you use the same address and password as the existing account. I could not get it across to them that it was the same on 3 different mac computers. Finally they made out a trouble ticket and escalated the problem to their advanced troubleshooting team. An hour later all of a sudden everything worked again and no one knows anything. Strange......
