Q: Create Apple ID without credit card info?

An article (from March 2016) describes methods for bypassing the requirement for credit card information which mostly consists in selecting "None" from the choices of credit cards.  See

Create an iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store account without a credit card or other payment method - Apple Suppor…

But presently (July 2016) none of the apps or stores (iBook, iTunes, App Store, etc.) show "None" as an option when logging in with an existing ID or when creating a new ID. I don't have or use a credit card. So Apple has thrown me under their bus.

Using current Apple devices (MacBook Pro with OS 10.10.5 (Yosemite), iPhone SE with iOS 9.3.2) but these shouldn't matter. The cause of the problem as far as I can determine is Apple itself.

Any solutions?

BTW, I just followed the instructions for creating a new Apple ID in iTunes on my Mac and it worked perfectly up to the point of entering a payment method. I got a None.

Thank you Dah•veed, for your replies. My experience differs. I don't have a Gift Card and my attempts to get past the lack of a 'None' option are rejected.

I have an ID, created before the requirement(?) for a credit card. The ID works here and elsewhere in parts of the Apple universe: I've signed in here without a credit card or Gift card.

The login procedure, in iBooks for example, recognizes my login; it automatically includes my address and phone number when reaching the payment screen. So if all that and my email address are already on file, and they are not going to require credit card info, why is a 'None' selection even required? If it is required, why doesn't it display?
