Jul 14, 2016 9:26 PM in response to hauntvictimby Rysz,The Photos and All Photos albums are just two different ways of viewing your Photos Library. The images seen there are NOT duplicates. Deleting images from them would remove them from your library. You also can't delete these albums. They come as part of the app.
"All Photos" special album is sorted by the date the images were added to your library.
"Photos" special album is sorted based on the image creation time stamp and automatically organized based on date and location into Moments, Collections and Years.

Ok
but that has NO EFFECT at all on the all Photos album in Photos for the Mac - it only affects the Photos (years/Collections/Moments) view
It is not possible to remove or hide the All Photos album (you can hide all albums with the sidebar shown hover over "Albums" adn then move right and click hide)

Jul 15, 2016 12:35 AM in response to appreciateby léonie,Adding to Larry's reply- hiding photos has the additional drawback, that the photos will no longer show the location data in the albums. They do not show a location name or a map, and you cannot search for them by the places name. They are crippled, but will still show in all albums.

Jul 15, 2016 12:43 AM in response to hauntvictimby léonie,On your iPhone you will see the Camera Roll Album and My Photo Stream instead of All Photos, if you disable iCloud Photo Library. Then the Camera Roll album will show you the photos in. Your library and My Photo Stream will be separate. With iCloud Photo Library enabled both items are combined into one album "All Photos".
